Scott Newman brings power, speed, and Gold Glove-caliber defense to Georgia’s outfield
In the 2025 season at USC Upstate, Scott Newman hit .300 with 19 home runs, 60 RBI, 10 doubles, and 11 stolen bases, and he was named one of just six national ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove finalist outfielders; at Georgia in 2026, he was used more sparingly at the plate, but his value still showed up in versatility, athleticism, and elite defense. He’s the kind of transfer who can change a game with the bat, cover ground in the outfield, and bring a little swagger—just ask the teammates joking about his Sour Power energy.
