veteran CB with proven ball skills and special-teams value
Grant Mayes is a seasoned cornerback profile with a compact frame and experience at Syracuse before Youngstown State, which gives him real “been-there” value in the defensive backfield. His measurable upside is less about eye-popping stat lines and more about reliability: he’s been trusted in coverage and on special teams, and his background suggests toughness, football IQ, and a willingness to do the dirty work. If you want a steady, experienced DB who can help stabilize a room, he’s worth a look.
