Jamal Smith brings veteran 6'3" point-guard experience to Cal Poly
Jamal Smith is a **experienced, defensive-minded guard** who gives Cal Poly a steady floor general with collegiate and professional experience, including a graduate-season role in 2019-20 where he started 22 of 30 games and averaged 6.7 points per game for Cal Poly. He is a good fit for teams that value maturity, decision-making, and a reliable lead guard over pure scoring flash. The biggest differentiator is his age/experience curve: he has already played at the Division I level, graduated, and spent time overseas, which usually translates to poise, professionalism, and a shorter learning curve for a staff.
