7-foot rim protector who flashed blocks, then took his game overseas
In the 2021-22 season at California Baptist, Pavel Zakharov was a low-usage 7-footer who gave the Lancers size, shot-blocking, and glass-cleaning in limited minutes, posting 1.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game across 4 appearances. He fits best as a defensive-specialist big: long, physical, and useful around the rim, but not a high-usage offensive engine. The bigger story is his pro path after CBU, which suggests he was more of a project/role center than a polished college star.
