Willie Sykes brings veteran DB depth and proven physicality to Lamar
In his Lamar arc, Willie Sykes profiles as a seasoned defensive back with real ball production and toughness: at Texas Tech, he logged 14 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 2 pass breakups in eight games, and at Arkansas he played in 12 of 13 games mostly on special teams with 9 tackles. That tells you the differentiator—he’s a versatile, experienced, contact-ready DB who can help in coverage and in the run game, with enough special-teams value to stay on the field.
