promising Kansas safety with size, pedigree, and special-teams grit
Damani Maxson entered Kansas as a three-star safety with solid size at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, and his best trait is that he looks built for physical football rather than flash. In the 2025 season, he saw action in two games for the Jayhawks, mostly on special teams, after appearing in one game in the 2024 season, which suggests he was still working to climb the depth chart. Recruiting evaluations placed him around the No. 54–66 safety nationally, so the upside is real; the caution flag is simply limited college production so far.
