Uko Akpan brings size, rim protection, and blue-collar energy to FIU
In the 2026 context, Uko Akpan profiles as a physical FIU forward whose value comes from rebounding, floor-running, and defense more than box-score fireworks. Historical FIU notes describe him as a rebounder who runs the floor extremely well and can defend both forward spots, while ESPN’s stat line shows limited but efficient minutes in his earlier college sample. If you want an energetic, low-maintenance role player who can dirty up possessions and cover ground, he fits the mold; if you need a featured scorer, he’s not that guy.
