Versatile Ballhawk Turned NIU WR Star After Marist Days
Andrew McElroy, once a safety for the Marist Red Foxes where he earned 2019 PFL Honorable Mention honors as a red-shirt senior and Campbell Trophy semifinalist, transferred to St. Thomas (2023: 45 rec, 717 yds, 7 TDs, Phil Steele All-PFL) before exploding at Northern Illinois with career college stats of 124 receptions for 1,696 yards and 9 TDs. His differentiator? Elite ball skills, blazing speed (95-yard KR TD), and positional versatility from DB to WR—making him a high-motor playmaker with proven FCS production who's a perfect fit for teams needing dynamic separators and return threats in high-tempo offenses.
