Experienced ODU Center and Team Captain
Xavier Black is a valuable Old Dominion interior lineman because he brings proven starting experience, leadership, and steady run-game impact; in 2023 he started 12 games at center and was a team captain for ODU’s bowl game, while the program noted he helped power a season-high 339 rushing yards at Marshall.[4] His story also stands out off the field: he earned a scholarship after walking on, and ODU has highlighted him as a Dean’s List student with strong work ethic and long-term maturity.[2][4] He looks like a fit for a team that values reliability, culture, and toughness in the trenches.[2][4]
