massive Iowa lineman with developmental upside
Barkema is a **6-7, 230-pound** Iowa Hawkeyes prospect from Muscatine whose biggest differentiator is his size and frame, which give him room to grow into a true trench presence for a Hawkeye-style run game[1][3]. Current public recruiting data is thin, so the key takeaway is projection: he looks like a long-term development fit rather than a finished product, with value tied to how well Iowa’s staff can add strength and polish his technique[1][2].
