Gritty Spanish Forward with JUCO Pedigree, Solid Bench Spark for Gophers
Irene Garrido Perez, a 6'1" senior forward from Granada, Spain, averaged 2.7 points, 1.0 rebound, and 0.8 assists per game in the 2018-19 season with Minnesota (37.4% FG), bringing battle-tested intensity from her two-time all-region JUCO days at Western Wyoming CC where she led with 13.6 PPG. Her +11.0 MPG jump that year fueled key starts, showcasing relentless energy and rebounding hustle in Big Ten wars—perfect for teams needing a high-motor role player who elevates bench production without demanding the spotlight.
