Sophia Gregory, a 6-foot-2 sophomore forward for Youngstown State in the 2025-26 season, has emerged as one of the Horizon League’s most complete interior players: she was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year and helped power YSU to its first-ever Horizon League championship game, where she averaged 11.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 blocks. She pairs elite rebounding and rim protection with efficient scoring, and her 37-point, 19-rebound outburst against Purdue Fort Wayne showed she can absolutely take over a game.
