From Dartmouth Star to Gophers Guard, Now Ivy League Coaching Prodigy
Taurus Samuels, a 6-1 guard who transferred to Minnesota for the 2022-23 season averaging 6.0 PTS, 1.9 REB, and 1.4 AST at 35.8% FG, has exploded as Dartmouth's head coach—in his 2024-25 debut, he led the Big Green from 6 wins in 2023-24 to 14 regular-season victories (.519 overall, .571 Ivy), their first above-.500 marks since 1999, with a first-ever Ivy Madness berth. Strengths: sharpshooting (career-high 23 PTS, 6 3s vs. Georgetown in 2021), hustle (team's Di Iorio Award winner), and scheme-building (10th nationally in def. rebound %, Ivy #1 def. efficiency, scoring jump from 61.9 to 77.4 PPG). His intensity and rapid turnaround make him a culture-changer—perfect fit for programs needing a young, proven winner.
