Mercer safety Rick Lester III brings veteran run support and playmaking juice
Rick Lester III is a seasoned Mercer safety who brings size, physicality, and proven production—he was a fourth-ranked JUCO safety coming out of Cisco College, and at Mercer he’s shown the ability to flash in the back end and around the line of scrimmage. In the 2021 season, he played in three games and posted five tackles, including four at Army, while his high school résumé featured 137 tackles, nine interceptions, six forced fumbles, and three sacks. He looks like a fit for teams that value a tough, downhill safety with ball-hawking instincts and special-teams edge.
