speed-first USC CB whose path was shaped by injuries
Brian Baucham entered USC as a highly athletic, speed-driven defensive back from West Torrance, and early USC notes praised him as a track guy with great speed and athletic ability; by the 2010 season, he was working as a backup corner and special-teams contributor, and USC listed him at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds with 23 career tackles. His biggest differentiator was burst and versatility, but his development was repeatedly interrupted by injuries, including ankle, foot, and burn-related setbacks that sidelined him in 2009. If a team wants a resilient depth corner with special-teams value, he fits the mold; if it needs a polished, durable shutdown starter, the risk is the story.
