In the 2025 season, Xavier Ward played in three games for San Jose State, throwing for 116 yards on 12 completions and adding 17 rushing yards, with a season-best 94 passing yards against Fresno State; he also carried a 68 overall rating in EA Sports College Football 26. He’s a compact, experienced senior with enough mobility to extend plays, but the bigger appeal is his live-arm, game-management profile and the fact that he’s still getting meaningful reps after a limited role in 2024. If a team wants a dependable depth QB who can operate efficiently and compete without a lot of drama, Ward is a sensible fit.
