Akil Jones brings proven tackling production and a transfer’s edge to UIW’s linebacker room
Akil Jones is a linebacker with a track record of real production, including 61 tackles in a season at Colorado, where 50 were solo stops and he added three tackles for loss, showing he can diagnose plays and finish at the ball. He profiles as a compact, active defender with experience as a graduate transfer, which usually signals maturity and adaptability. For a team, the appeal is his tackle consistency, physicality, and plug-and-play linebacker mindset rather than flashy splash plays. UIW lists no current season statistics for him, so the best available value read is based on his prior college production and veteran profile.[1][4][7]
