undersized, relentless Fresno State DB with special-teams grit
In the 2012 season, Beau Fryer played in all 12 games for Fresno State and was a steady special-teams contributor, finishing with five tackles on coverage units, the fourth-most on the team[8]. At 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, he stood out less for splash plays and more for toughness, work ethic, and reliability, earning 2012 Mountain West Academic All-Conference honors[8]. Earlier coverage described him as a hard-working, over-achieving player who forced his way onto the field despite a smaller frame[3][6].
