Senior catcher Allyson Smith brings clutch bat and steady presence to UAB
In the 2026 season, Allyson Smith has been a situational spark for UAB, posting a .667 average in 3 at-bats while delivering a walk-off, series-clinching RBI against Louisiana Tech and a two-RBI pinch-hit knock against South Florida. The senior catcher isn’t a volume-stat monster, but she’s the kind of gritty, composed role player coaches love: dependable behind the plate, dangerous in high-leverage moments, and clearly trusted in pressure spots. If your team needs a calm, clutch veteran with a tough-at-bat reputation, she’s absolutely worth a look.
