Local-bred DL with upside, but injury setbacks have stalled his on-field impact
Peyton Wilkerson entered Eastern Illinois as a two-star defensive line prospect from Lincoln-Way Central and arrived with good size and family football pedigree, but his college production has been derailed by injuries. In the 2024 season, Eastern Illinois listed him as a redshirt freshman at 6-foot-1 and 250 pounds, and multiple reports noted he missed significant time and suffered a season-ending injury. The appeal is the frame, line pedigree, and developmental upside; the red flag is availability. He looks more like a long-term project than an immediate plug-and-play contributor.
