Calvin Arnold brought rare size, smart passing, and sneaky shooting touch to Dartmouth’s frontcourt
Arnold was a 6-foot-9 forward for Dartmouth who stood out less as a volume scorer and more as a versatile, winning glue guy: he could step out for the jumper, defend the rim, and even facilitate offense, finishing his Dartmouth career with 299 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. In the 2005-06 season, he averaged 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds while converting 43.5% from the field, and Dartmouth’s own outlook described him as a forward who could shoot from outside and block shots. He fits teams that value length, IQ, and low-ego role players who make the game easier for everyone else.
