Cole Karstetter brought toughness and versatility to EWU’s secondary
Cole Karstetter is a Spokane-area defensive back whose value at Eastern Washington has been less about flashy counting stats and more about reliability, versatility, and physical play in the back end. In 2018, he had started 14 of 24 career games and totaled 80 career tackles, while earlier EWU coverage notes described him as a versatile commodity for a defense that was playing well in conference play. He also battled a ruptured Achilles earlier in his career, which makes his comeback arc part of the story: gritty, experienced, and the kind of DB who tends to help a secondary settle down.
