Rim-Protecting Center Turned Rising Assistant Coach
Erica Balman, a gritty 6-foot center for Monmouth Hawks (2015-19), dominated the paint as a senior with 3.8 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and a team-high 46 blocks (1.6 BPG) in 28 games, showcasing elite shot-blocking instincts and rebounding tenacity. Her four-year career (108 games, 3.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG) highlighted physicality and leadership, now fueling her coaching ascent—from Houghton assistant (2020-24) to Boston U ops director, and now UMass Lowell assistant for 2025-26. A high-motor recruiter and developer, she's a perfect fit for programs building tough, defensive bigs.
