Walk-Off Lefty Infielder with Power-Speed Edge for Virginia Tech
Sam Grube, a 6'3", 205-lb left-handed infielder for Virginia Tech, is a 2026 stat leader with 8 home runs, 38 RBI, 45 runs scored, and a .296 AVG across 66 hits [6][7]. His differentiator is elite intensity and clutch performance: he delivered two walk-off hits in 2026, including a series-winning heroics against Duke that turned a potential disaster into a victory [5][9]. Grube also shows speed with 20 stolen bases and a .302 sophomore batting average with 8 doubles and 3 homers through 27 games [5]. As a lefty-lefty player with power, speed, and game-winning grit, he’s a high-upside fit for teams needing an intense, versatile infielder who elevates in critical moments.
