experienced, versatile Demon DB with proven ball skills
In the 2018 season, Malik Sonnier was a disruptive, turnover-capable defensive back for Northwestern State, posting 26 tackles, 20 solo stops, an interception, two forced fumbles, and two tackles for loss, then in 2019 he added eight games of experience with three starts and a pass breakup[1]. His profile points to a physical, assignment-savvy corner who can help in coverage and run support; that kind of versatility is valuable if a staff wants a ready-made defensive back with maturity and proven production, even if current-season stats are unavailable from the roster page[1].
