Steady Guard with Elite Steal Intensity for Cleveland State
Walt Chavis, the Steelton, PA-born guard for Cleveland State Vikings, differentiates himself through elite defensive intensity, recording 4 steals in a recent 62-69 loss to Green Bay while shooting a perfect 3/3 from the field. Though his season averages are modest (4.0 PTS, 2.2 REB, 3.9 AST, 32.2% FG), his on-court presence is defined by relentless hustle and high-pressure ball disruption rather than scoring volume. With no reported injury history and a reputation for unwavering focus, Chavis is a high-fit candidate for teams prioritizing defensive versatility and backcourt pressure over offensive firepower, making him a valuable asset for coaches seeking a guard who elevates team intensity without needing the ball to make an impact.
