Sophia Leitzen brings speed, defense, and rising impact to Valpo’s outfield
Sophia Leitzen is a right-handed outfielder at Valparaiso whose value shows up beyond the box score: in 2025 she appeared in 40 games with 31 starts, and reports from Valpo highlight her speed and an outfield assist on a statement win over Notre Dame. She profiles as a quick, athletic defender who can change games on the bases and in the field, making her a strong fit for a team that wants versatility, energy, and run prevention. Her bat was still developing in 2025, but her defensive playmaking is the clear calling card.
