Jackson Hoyt brings a live left arm and real upside to Florida’s staff
Freshman LHP Jackson Hoyt entered Florida with a reputation as a high-upside arm, having been ranked as the No. 220 recruit nationally, the No. 21 overall player, and the No. 2 left-hander in Florida in the 2025 class. In the 2026 season, he flashed a mid-90s fastball in preseason reports and logged 7.1 innings with 8 strikeouts, but also showed the expected freshman volatility (13.50 ERA, 6 walks). The fit is clear: if a staff wants left-handed velocity, strikeout potential, and development runway, Hoyt is a bet on tools and ceiling.
