veteran EIU DB with special-teams roots, but limited recent stat trail
Perkins is best viewed as an experienced Eastern Illinois defensive back who has been around the program since 2019, with his documented early role coming on special teams and no recorded statistics in that freshman season. His standout trait, from the available record, is durability and roster continuity rather than splashy production, which can matter for teams valuing depth, communication, and system familiarity in the secondary. There is not enough recent public statistical evidence here to call him a clear stat-leader, so the key question for a staff is whether his value comes from reliability, practice consistency, and matchup readiness more than headline-grabbing turnovers.
