the ball-hawking, high-energy SDSU DB who made plays when the Jackrabbits needed them most
In the 2010 season, Corey Jeske flashed as a physical, instinctive defensive back for South Dakota State, earning Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a career-high 17 tackles, a sack, and a pass breakup against Western Illinois. He’s notable for his versatility and football background — a former quarterback who made the switch to defense — which shows up in his feel for the game and ability to diagnose plays quickly. Jeske also carried a strong academic reputation, earning conference honor-roll recognition, a good sign for consistency and coachability.
