veteran floor general with deep-shot pop and real defensive bite
In the 2019-20 season, AJ Harris gave New Mexico State a dependable veteran guard who averaged 9.4 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.9 rebounds while earning All-WAC Second Team and All-Defensive Team recognition. His calling card was steady point-guard play, plus enough shooting threat to punish teams from deep, including a 31-point career night in the rivalry game vs. New Mexico. The big separator: Harris was not just a stat-sheet guard—he was trusted to organize, compete, and defend, with the kind of toughness that helps a team’s identity snap into place.
