Vander Himmons brings depth and developmental upside on Alabama State’s defensive front
Vander Himmons is a **depth-piece defensive lineman** for Alabama State who fits a roster that already has multiple DL/DE/DT options, so his value is tied to practice consistency, rotational readiness, and physical development rather than headline stats.[2][1] With Alabama State sitting **4-2** and competing near the top of the SWAC East, a player like Himmons matters if he can give the Hornets reliable interior resistance, fresh legs, and steady effort on a defense trying to stay disruptive over a full season.[1] The main reason to care: he looks like a **system-fit candidate** for a team that needs toughness and front-seven depth more than flash.[2]
