Bakari LaStrap brings steady guard play and efficient scoring to IU Indianapolis
LaStrap is a compact, experienced point guard who has shown he can score efficiently and handle a lead-guard workload: he averaged 8.0 points and 2.5 assists per game in his 2021-22 season at IU Indy, then later posted 8.3 points per game while shooting 45.6% from the field for Midwestern State in 2024-25.[6][5] His best calling card is versatility—he has been trusted as both a starter and bench spark, and in tournament play he showed finishing touch with a perfect 8-for-8 outing for 16 points.[6][1]
