Penn captain Joe Anastasio brings veteran linebacker leadership to the Quakers
Joe Anastasio is best known as a seasoned Penn linebacker and team captain, which signals trust, football IQ, and locker-room credibility more than raw box-score production. Penn’s own materials list him among the team’s 2007 captains, a strong indicator that coaches and teammates valued his intensity, communication, and consistency on defense. For a program looking for a dependable fit, the appeal is his leadership profile and experience in a championship-caliber Ivy environment rather than flashy stats.
