Billy Houston brings old-school rim protection for Winthrop
Billy Houston is a 6-8 center whose value shows up in the dirty work: he was already Winthrop’s all-time shot-block leader by 2005-06, a strong clue that he anchors the paint with timing, length, and defensive instincts.[8] In his 2005-06 senior season, he averaged 3.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in limited minutes, so he’s more of a defensive specialist than a volume scorer.[9][14] If your team needs a physical interior presence who can change shots and protect the rim without needing touches, Houston fits the bill.
