steady IU guard and veteran locker-room presence
Finkelmeier was a **6-1 guard** from Carmel, Indiana, known more for reliability and program knowledge than flash; Indiana described him as the team’s lone three-year player and an “elder statesman,” which points to leadership, maturity, and buy-in. He averaged **13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists** at Carmel High School, but at IU his role was modest statistically, suggesting a connector-type guard who helps organize, stabilize, and keep a team aligned. If you value experience, composure, and a low-maintenance fit, he profiles as a culture-friendly piece.
