Baylor’s high-upside, hard-running back turned breakout star
Abram Smith made his name at Baylor with a powerful 2021 breakout, leading the Bears with 1,621 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns while earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors[6][1]. What makes him worth caring about is the combination of vision, contact balance, and competitive edge—he’s a former linebacker who plays with a defensive mindset, and that versatility shows up in how physical and urgent he runs[4][5]. If your team wants a back who can handle volume and bring toughness, he fits; if you need pure speed, that’s less clearly his calling card.
