Ohio’s rugged, run-stopping center in the MAC era
In the 2009-10 season, Kenneth van Kempen was the kind of old-school Ohio big who won possessions with defense, rebounding, and charge-taking hustle, not flashy box-score fireworks. Ohio called him its all-time leader in games played, and in the MAC tournament title game he added 10 points and a team-high 9 rebounds, a nice snapshot of his blue-collar value. He looks like a fit for teams that want a physical, dependable interior anchor who embraces contact and does the dirty work. The catch: this is a former Ohio Bobcat, not a current 2026 roster player.
