Johnny Yorey is a Rutgers depth-piece linebacker with real program DNA
In the 2026 season, Johnny Yorey is still more of a depth/rotation linebacker than a stat-sheet star, with major college experience dating back to Rutgers’ 2019 season and no notable current stat production showing up in public game logs. What makes him interesting is the Rutgers-ready profile: a local New Jersey product, former high-school running back turned linebacker, compact build, and a reputation for toughness and special-teams value. If you want a low-drama, high-effort defender who understands the program and can help in the dirty-work roles, he fits the mold.
