Howie Rickett is UNCW’s versatile, contact-first spark plug
In the 2026 season, Howie Rickett has been one of UNC Wilmington’s most productive bats, hitting .381 with an .988 OPS while driving in 18 runs, scoring 14 times, and showing extra-base thump with 7 doubles and 3 homers[1]. He’s more than the box score: Rickett has been used at catcher and in the infield, gives off tough-out energy, and has shown clutch value with multi-hit games and RBI contributions in key conference wins[2][4]. If your team wants a physical, right-handed bat with defensive flexibility and a gritty competitive edge, he’s a very good fit[1][4].
