Gavin Moran brings UCSB a live-arm freshman RHP with upside
Gavin Moran is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hander on UC Santa Barbara’s 2026 roster, and the early read is simple: he looks like a high-upside freshman arm who already has a strong reputation for missing bats and attacking hitters. A Ridgefield Raptors note says he arrives with a record-breaking high school strikeout résumé, which suggests real swing-and-miss stuff rather than empty prospect buzz. He’s the kind of pitcher who could fit a staff that values strike throwing, competitiveness, and ceiling — exactly the sort of arm you want to bet on before the box score fully catches up.
