Tyler Pate brings local-scoring pedigree, but FAU list him as a freshman guard
Tyler Pate is a 6-foot-3 guard from Port Aransas, Texas, and FAU’s roster notes him as a freshman with the upside of a proven high-school bucket-getter: he was his school’s all-time leading scorer, a two-time all-state pick, three-time all-region selection, and three-time district MVP, including 22 points per game as a senior in the 2013 season. That profile says “instant offense” more than polished stat-sheet stuffer, so he’s the kind of player worth watching for shot-making and competitive edge rather than eye-popping college numbers right now. If you need a guard with scoring instincts and a high-motor background, he’s intriguing; if you need proven collegiate production, the sample is still thin.
