Grant Gardner brings proven starter volume and strike-throwing feel to App State
Gardner profiles as a dependable right-handed arm whose best calling card has been durability and wins: in the 2019 season, he logged a team-high 87 1/3 innings, went 10-2, and showed solid control with 45 strikeouts against 22 walks. That kind of workload suggests a pitcher coaches can trust to steady a staff and eat innings, even if the run-prevention numbers were more workmanlike than dominant. If App State is looking for a stable, competitive starter rather than a pure power arm, he fits that mold.
