Smith Bailey is Arizona’s breakout power arm with ace upside
In the 2026 season, Arizona right-hander Smith Bailey has already shown the kind of stuff that changes a weekend series: he earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after striking out 15 in six innings with just one hit allowed, and earlier in the season he delivered dominant outings like seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts. The 6-4 sophomore was a Freshman All-American in 2025, and the best part is the profile behind the box score—he’s a durable, strike-throwing starter with a power fastball/secondaries mix and the confidence to go after hitters. If your staff needs a frontline competitor, he fits the bill.
