Cory Sims brings steady guard production and veteran poise to NIU
In the 2005-06 season, Cory Sims was a dependable Northern Illinois guard, appearing in all 28 games and averaging 9.4 points in 27.0 minutes per game; he also earned NIU’s annual Heart award, a nice clue that his value went beyond the box score. Sims’ calling card was consistency: a reliable rotation piece who could handle minutes, chip in scoring, and provide toughness and steadiness. If you want a low-drama, high-effort guard who helps stabilize a backcourt, he’s the kind of fit coaches usually love.
