CJ McGarity Jr. brings ball-hawk instincts and special-teams juice to Bryant’s secondary
McGarity Jr. is a long, lean defensive back with real playmaking DNA: at Hiram, he posted 47 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 8 PBUs, an interception return TD, and multiple blocked kicks as a junior, then 38 tackles, 4.0 TFLs, another pick-six, and more blocked-kick impact as a senior. Bryant’s roster listed him at 6-foot, 155 pounds in the 2023 season, and his profile points to a competitor who can affect games beyond standard coverage stats — especially in chaos, on special teams, and when the ball is in the air. That combination makes him the kind of depth-and-upside defender coaches love to gamble on.
