Gary McCrae brings veteran depth and a developmental DL profile to Louisville
McCrae is a **fourth-year Louisville defender** who has logged game experience across his career, giving the Cardinals a seasoned depth piece on the defensive line[3]. His value is less about headline stats and more about **experience, versatility, and having already worked through a shoulder injury early in his career**, which suggests a player who has had to earn every snap[3]. On recruiting services, he was viewed as a multi-program prospect with Louisville the clear favorite, reinforcing that he had real FBS-level interest coming out of the prep pipeline[2].
