McNeese DB Derek Allen is a profile play with defensive upside
Derek Allen Jr. is listed on McNeese’s roster as a defensive back, but the public data is thin, so the key takeaway is upside: a player worth monitoring for special-teams value, depth flexibility, and defensive backfield development rather than headline stats. His appeal is the classic DB checklist — coverage instincts, willingness to hit, and versatility — but without verified 2026 production numbers, he should be viewed as a “watch-the-film” prospect more than a stat-sheet star. If your team wants a physical, adaptable defensive back with room to grow, Allen is at least intriguing.
