a relentless edge rusher who became W&M’s sack-hunting standard-bearer
Mike Reilly was a high-motor, technically polished defensive end for William & Mary whose calling card was finishing plays in the backfield. In 2014, he led the CAA with 11.5 sacks, ranked fourth nationally in sacks per game, and helped power a Tribe defense that finished second nationally in scoring defense; he closed his career with 27 sacks, second-most in school history. Reliable observers repeatedly described him as a gym rat with a nonstop motor, the kind of tough, productive pass rusher who fits best on a team that values effort, discipline, and disruption.
