Delaina Ma'ae is a middle-order thumper with catcher grit for UCSB
In the 2026 season, Delaina Ma'ae hit .290 with a .603 slugging percentage, 9 home runs, and 25 RBIs in 50 games, earning All-Big West Honorable Mention. Her calling card is real pop from the catcher spot, plus reliable hands behind the plate—she posted a 1.000 fielding percentage and threw out 12 of 24 stolen-base attempts. She also showed clutch upside, including a two-homer game against Hawai’i and a multi-hit, multi-RBI stretch that helped power UCSB’s offense. If you want a catcher who can change a game with one swing, she’s absolutely worth the attention.
